Matt+Chera = romantic and fun photography!

Matthew and I just celebrated 5 years of marriage and have been shooting weddings and portraits for over five years. We have this amazing connection in life where we just get each other and get moments that are meaningful to others. I could tell you more about us, but I'd rather show you some of our work! Thanks for stopping by!

J  is warm, funny, and just plain sweet.  When she came to our house for a consultation to talk about wedding photos the usual hour and half meeting lasted for more than a few hours; we talked about her wonderful plans for her country wedding on her family farm, how hard the distance was between her and D was (as he was at the RCMP depot in training), the cards and care packages she planned and sent him, we talked about her sweet puppy, our mutual love of teaching, her appreciation for all things Truronian,  and by the end of the night we were making up hypothetical new business ventures together, we had arranged a marriage between Anna (our little one) and her nephew -I felt like I hadn’t just gained a new bride I had gained a friend.   The wedding day was an extension of this and J’s hairstylists asked how long we had known each other and been friends -to which we replied it was the second time we had ever seen each other.

J and D, your wedding was beautiful -from the perfect summer weather, the cornflower blue sky, the cutest, furriest little flower girl I have ever seen.  One of my favourite moments was during your ceremony when you took time after your kiss just to hug and you could just see the expression of pure happiness on your face!

It was a pleasure photographing your wedding, and getting to know you.   You two are going to have fabulous adventures together during all of your postings. D-take care of that one, she is a catch!!

***Names and D’s face were omitted from this post to protect the identity of his family -we did in actuality get pictures that included the groom -we promise ; )

    Beautiful pictures you guys! :)

He was different, he just got her and what was important to her.  He knew she was a photographer and asked for a print of a picture she had taken of a train wheel.  He got that she was an artist, and that caught her attention.  It didn’t matter that Jessica was with someone else at the time – Richard was stealing her heart.  The obvious chemistry plus their mutual love of dancing sealed the deal and six years of dating later they got engaged.

Here are just a few of their beautiful engagement photos – we simply can’t wait for tomorrow to photograph their wedding day!! Jessica and Richard tomorrow is going to be amazing!!!

He was new in town, new to the Truro police force and new to the church.  The church was holding an event, and he decided to go; while there he met a man who casually asked about his family, where he grew up, what he did, about his faith… little did Jeff know he was passing an interview of sorts.  A few minutes later this man introduced Jeff to his daughter, the stunningly beautiful Natalie.  Natalie and Jeff had what I am sure was a polite but slightly awkward conversation, exchanged a bit of chit chat and parted ways.  This quick conversation would spark something more and slowly they began to get to know each other.

Time passed and a winter skate on a bumpy outdoor rink became the best date in their love story.  It had been a double date,  their friends had skated off the ice and
Jeff and Natalie held hands tightly to not lose their footing on the rough ice.  Natalie, thinking the skate was over, continued around the oval with Jeff.  Around and around they skated as he was trying to build up the courage to ask her… to ask if she would be his partner, his friend, his love in life.  Surprised and overjoyed, she said yes, and we couldn’t be happier!!!!

Jeff and Natalie – you two are beyond sweet and perfect for each other (I guess Dad’s really are always right).  We can’t wait to capture your wedding day – it makes me giddy just thinking about it!

They happened to live in the same building; the building happened to have only one working elevator; they happened to need that elevator at the same time on the same day.  A chance meeting and a shy conversation began Mark  and Danielle’s story.  A casual conversation started a friendship that brought them to their beautiful wedding day this past Saturday.

Danielle smiling, poised, breathtaking, walked into the Memramcook Chapel, and Mark needed only see the doors open to his bride before he smiled, and then with a shrug, resignedly took out a tissue to wipe the tears that had quickly filled eyes.
Danielle,  your details, the heartfelt speeches at the reception, and the way Mark looked at you with so much love made your wedding day perfect and so memorable.  You can tell how undeniable happy the two of you are, and we feel privileged to have partaken in your day!  I hope you’re enjoying an incredible honeymoon as well as these seek peaks – Congratulations again!

I am not very good at goodbyes, my family moved around a lot when I was growing up, so I usually just deal with farewell’s by  pretending nothing at all happened.  I was doing a pretty good job of this after our great friends Erin and Devon moved away. I was in denial. I think I had subconsciously told myself they were on vacation.  Then in the mail the sweetest gift and a card arrived.  My wonderful friend Erin had found the most beautiful little porcelain children’s tea set for Anna, and written a sweet little note; that is when a few pesky tears blurred my vision, and I realized –I miss them – I really miss them.

Devon and Erin you are always welcome in our home and in our lives, we can’t wait for your visits and road trips to visit you, and I am counting down the days till you come back to the East Coast!!!

Here are a few shots from the stylized shoot we did last year, where Erin and Devon were gracious enough to be our models; more pictures and info on the shoot can be seen here:
