Matt+Chera = romantic and fun photography!

Matthew and I just celebrated 5 years of marriage and have been shooting weddings and portraits for over five years. We have this amazing connection in life where we just get each other and get moments that are meaningful to others. I could tell you more about us, but I'd rather show you some of our work! Thanks for stopping by!

The grey hued sky and rain clouds did not echo the mood of this perfect wedding day.  At noon Sarah was all smiles and the picture of calm, having already put the finishing touches on the reception decor, leaving no detail unattended – each homemade jam jar set out, the cross stitched ornament place cards were placed, the hand made letters on burlap perfectly strung, the moulded wire name tags on the head table were positioned, the burlap runners matched the chair ties – her vision was perfected and all that was left to do was to see Hurst, so they could walk through their wedding day together. They decided to do a first look, and it couldn’t have been more special. Friends and family watched as a beautiful Sarah walked to Hurst; there were tears, hugs, a kiss or two, and it set the tone for the rest of the day.

In a cozy country church Sarah and Hurst stood, speaking their vows in front of the same altar that her parents recited their vows,  in the same church where Sarah’s grandparents had wed.  During the ceremony Hurst caught Sarah’s eye with this subtle unwavering look of love that so captured his quiet affection and adoration for her. Hand in hand they took in every detail, the readings they had chosen – the exquisite solos that were sung, the communion that was shared – each moment was savoured under the same roof where her grandparents’ and parents’ stories began.

Sarah and Hurst, I cannot begin to say how wonderful you two are, from the email correspondences we have shared to the engagement shoot that felt like a hang out, we have enjoyed every aspect of your wedding preparation and day!  Enjoy your sneak peek, and I can’t wait for you to see the rest of the shots!!

Sarah and Hurst,

I saw the beauty of your special day for myself, but these pictures remind me just how beautiful you both were. Stunning!!

Eugene Price - January 17, 2012 - 12:47 pm

Coming from the father of the bride Matt and Chera you two were absolutely awesome. From beginning to end you were very professional and absolutely wonderful, you just fit right in and seemed like you had been part of our family for a lifetime. If you happen to need new parents at any time just let us know and we will adopt you into our family! Your photos are incredible but the fact you are able to separate the necessary work you need to do in such a discrete and personal manner is what makes you both so great. I have been at some weddings where the photographer was the center of attention but definitely not so with you guys. You added such a great dimension to the wedding, one which I had never thought of before and certainly made Sarah’s Day the perfect day she had hoped and dreamed for. Thanks so much for everything and you know where we live!

What a beautiful event!!! Everything went very well by the looks of the pictures. It was so nice to have the wedding in that beautiful little church that holds so many fond memories. I wish blessings and happiness always for the happy couple! Many thanks for sending the pictures–It makes me realize how fast time flies. Keep in touch; I love hearing about your family. Love to all!!

She has this intuition – whether it is to find the perfect wedding dresses or to surround herself with kind, beautiful-hearted people – Renée just has this extra sense.  This sense was so keen that it knew long before Renée herself that she and Pierre would be together.  Pierre’s kind soul, hearty laugh, and giving ways were exactly what she needed.

Renée and Pierre, your wedding was a modern day fairytale!  It was elegant, bold and romantic. The ambiance in the cathedral was majestic; the flute and the violin by themselves were lovely but the soprano’s enchanting voice elevated the entire ceremony into the ethereal.  And if the ceremony wasn’t beautiful enough, the decor of the reception was utter perfection.  Jason from Unico Decor brought Renée’s vision to life and the swooping fabric from the ceiling, the crystal, the chandeliers transformed the already beautiful Royal Oaks into utter refinement.

But enough about your day, Renée and Pierre; we have found in you not only fiercely loyal clients, but even more than that, we have found friends.  It has been an adventure photographing your engagement sessions and your wedding, and I cherish the moments we have spent together!!

A huge thank you goes to Matthew’s sister Johanna for being our amazing third shooter!

They met years before… summers before. They were Robbie and Becky the lifeguards. I can picture teenage them sitting by the pool, toes dipped in the sun-sparkled water, his comments amusing her, making her throw her blonde curls back with the fullness of the laugh that he can so easily coax from her.    When Robbie first started dating Becky, he asked his sister what she thought of Becky; she of course said that she loved her, and he said, “good, because she is my girl”.  On a warm and perfect fall day, Robbie married his girl. Laughter, tears and hugs were not in short supply. And after the rings and kiss were exchanged, they were walking to have their photos taken when Becky laughed and said, “that was so much fun; I would totally do it again!”

Becky and Robbie you are our ideal clients, so happy and in love!! I couldn’t wait to blog you; the whole time we were away on business, I was dying to get home and share these images.  A huge thanks also goes to your Mom and wedding team who were more than amazing to work with and who look “hella” fab in jewel tones!  I can’t wait for you to see the rest of your images, I just know you will love them as much as I do!

Zalmy - November 24, 2011 - 8:38 pm

Where were you guys when I got married?? These are spectacular!

Chrissy - December 16, 2011 - 2:28 pm

You managed to capture the inner beauty of Becky! Her joy shines out from each image!

Danielle + Dwight //married//

I can just picture a six year old Danielle sitting primly in the pew, with a pouffy pink dress, fancy socks with ruffles and white shoes, a sweet little smile and her hands folded in her lap, just as easily I can picture Dwight climbing under and over the same pew, running down the aisle a little too fast, all the while a huge goofy grin adorning his face.  You see Danielle and Dwight have known each other their whole lives, they lived in the same town, went to the same school, have been together since high school, and on a rainy October day they made a promise in front of friends and family in the same church where they used to attend as little ones.

Danielle and Dwight, the love and joy you two share is undeniable, not even rain could dampen your smiles.  We wish you all the best in your new chapter of life together, and we can’t wait for you to see the rest of your images. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for letting us be a part of your day!
