I have had a hard time narrowing down what I want to write about this incredible couple who have stolen my heart. Julie and Chris came into our life last year as clients, and now I am happy to call them friends. A year ago I got an email from an enthusiastic, organized, pretty bride (I knew she was a looker because she was organized enough to send a picture of she and Chris so we could put faces to names). We corresponded through email for the better part of year, and then we finally met. She invited us to their home and greeted us with cupcakes and cappuccinos. I gushed over her wedding plans as she shared them with me, and I couldn’t wait to see everything come together.
The morning of the wedding, even though I had an inkling of what the day was going to look like, I was still amazed! This wedding had it all: style, elegance, romance and fun. Julie looked incredible in her gown, and I adored her bouquet which tied in her field wheat theme…and Chris didn’t look too bad either!
Julie and Chris opted to have a first look and to spend their wedding day together. Chris stood beside a fountain by their home as a smiling Julie walked to meet him. Julie also had a surprise in store for her man — the sea foam green Fender acoustic guitar of his dreams. She had kept it under wraps for months and revealed it in such a sweet way. She hid it behind her “soft serve ice-cream” dress, and as she walked close to him she pulled it from behind her back–his reaction was priceless!
After the reveal, we all traveled together to Seven Wine Bar and then around Halifax for the photos. It was an amazing afternoon, Matt and I were on our toes keeping up with the romance, passion, and fun antics of these two (I have never had a couple arrested during a photo-shoot until this wedding). I love how these two interact; they have these spontaneous moments where they start dancing with each other and gazing into one another’s eyes.
One of the many poignant moments of the day happened when I was taking a second to take a detail shot of the bouquet, and when I turned around, I saw Julie holding Chris’ hand. Their foreheads were almost touching, and Julie was caressing his wedding band. My eyes stung as I took in this bittersweet moment … the ring belonged to Chris’ father, and I held my breath as they held onto his memory. Chris and Julie, you are each other’s comfort and strength and love.
Your devotion and delight in one another makes me giddy! Matt and I are lucky to have captured the moments of your day and even more lucky to count you as friends. Thank you.

The photo slideshow at the reception may have been the funniest I have ever seen…..I think Julie and Chris would agree!

Chris’ band and family provided the amazing entertainment for their “kitchen party” themed reception!
