Karine and Dave – you two are simply fabulous, we loved spending time with you and capturing this exciting part of your story.  Each picture makes me smile; you two brought warmth to a cold Moncton winter day!!

I sat across his desk as we took a minute to talk about our beginnings, and if it was possible I fell a little bit more in love with the Unico experience, as he talked about starting his decorating and design career as a teenager, and how his dream became even more of a reality when they moved to their current location in Dieppe, Jason’s excitement grew as he gave me a tour of the room where the magic and arranging happens, and his passion was so clear as he talked about how creations and inspiration come to him. Jason’s passion and talent is infectious, and it was during the meeting that I knew Yorke Photography simply must work with Unico Decor on a project. We decided that we wanted to bring together a selection of our fellow wedding vendors to do a stylized wedding shoot; I couldn’t wait for our ideas to come together. We wanted the chance to work together as a team to create an elegant and contemperary wedding vignette, that would showcase some of our very favourite vendors, and allow us the chance to get creative during our pre-wedding season.

Matthew and I were humbled and inspired to collaborate with a host of these incredible wedding vendors from Moncton; this shoot wouldn’t have been possible without the help, generosity and inspiration of these local wedding businesses and their penchant for excellence. I also want to take a moment to thank the fabulous models Karine and Dave -we will be showcasing their winter engagement next week on the blog, and I’ll share a little more about their story and cuteness. Until then, Karine and Dave -know that we couldn’t have done this without you; your love and sweetness were exactly what the shoot needed to come alive!

These two make marriage look easy, they are an adorable mix of realist and dreamer, and we couldn’t have asked for a better couple to photograph on a dreamily snow stippled winter day.  Julie and Jean-Luc came to us to celebrate their anniversary; the shoot was a perfect gift to each other because on your first anniversary you are supposed to receive a paper gift, and they chose pictures.

Julie and Jean-Luc – you two are incredible, it felt like we have known you for years, and we feel so privileged to help record this part of your life.  I can’t wait for you to see your beautiful prints – but here is a little reminder of how you held each other to celebrate your first year of marriage.

It was adorable to watch her Mommy, Jillian, smile with pride when she was close to her new family – and my cheeks hurt from smiling when Shane said he could get lost in the moment just looking at her.

These two are such a fabulous parenting team, and they had a beyond beautiful baby; we are so excited to be photographing all the milestones of her first year!

The morning of the wedding, Stephanie’s mind was whirring with wedding details, and she had a few butterflies in her stomach; her bridesmaids tried to break into her midmorning daydream by calling her name, but it wasn’t until they said Tyler’s name that she looked up and asked what they were talking about.  Just the mention of his name reaches her, grounds her, and makes her feel special.  Looking at Stephanie, I see a woman who knows without a doubt that she is loved – that she is special.

On a mild (for Moncton) spring morning, blessed with soft  sunlight, Tyler and Stephanie promised that their love and faith were ready and excited for what life would hold for them.

Tyler and Stephanie, your wedding was perfect and was so “you two”; we are happy to have met you and shared your day! From your sweet fairytale theme to the delicious pizza feast, your day was memorable and oh so fun!!  I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather in Mexico while looking at these pictures!

I am also glad it rained and instead of taking photos outside we got do the photos in Luke’s room. I am glad because the room shows their heart and how much they already love this little boy.

When we were taking pictures of Laura in the rocking chair, Mitch was looking at her with so much love.  He told us that one of the cutest moments of this pregnancy was when he found Laura in Luke’s room,  rocking in her grandmother’s rocking chair, holding her belly.  She looked up and said to Mitch”I just wanted to rock him.”

Laura and Mitch you two are adorable, and we were lucky to meet you and honoured that you let us into your home to capture this moment in your life.  Luke is a lucky little man!!

Mitch found these vintage school readers when he was 19 and carried them around with him thinking he would be able to use them someday (how cute is that?).  I think this book mobile was the perfect use!

I am so excited about sharing this maternity shoot with my blog readers, because part of it took place in a gymnastics club -how cool is that?  I asked Tanya if there was a spot that was meaningful to her and Jeff, feeling a little silly for putting her on the spot, but immediately she said, “the gym”.   She and Jeff were gymnasts (and Tanya is now a coach) and their time together really revolves around gymnastics.  It was such an honour to see them in their element and to take photos that showed a piece of their story.

Tanya and Jeff, I hope you are having fun snuggling your little bundle -I am sure you are an amazing parenting team!!!

I love that the couple shots were centred around a jaunt to the market to pick up their one of a kind organic cake from The Baking Stone, they took time to bag some dulse (one of Will’s fave maritime treats), and then we headed back to meet with friends and family.

Thank you Will and Aisha so much for including us in your extended celebration -you are both gems and whenever you stop by the east coast, we would love to catch up!

Josiane and Kyle, I wish you many more winter snows and snowshoe adventures, I wish you perfectly calm rivers for kayaking and much happiness.  We couldn’t have found a more amazing couple to share this week’s beautiful, picturesque weather. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon!!
