We were so lucky last week to shoot an aftershoot with the oh-so-adorable couple, Holly and Jon. They were married two months ago on PEI and got in contact with us about getting dressed up again in their wedding attire and having us photograph just the two of them for an afternoon. The “couple shot” part of a wedding day is our favourite, so of course we were thrilled at the idea of spending an afternoon with these in-love, suavely-dressed people at the beautiful Memramcook Institute while doing the thing we love best!
We were sharing the space with a kind decorator who allowed a few minutes with the beautiful archway as a backdrop before she set up, and then we had fun finding unique settings around the Institute to shoot. All in all, it turned out to be a fabulous time.
Holly and Jon you were fantastic sports! It was amazing to meet you! You two are so in love and such a dream to photograph!
Thanks again to the folks at Memramcook Institute for allowing us to use your breathtaking facilities!

I would like to give you all a little glimpse into the life, love and family of Marilyn and Jean. These two are gems; it was an utter joy to connect with them and share in their day.
After a month of not taking weddings, I got swept up in the excitement, nerves and bustle of the wedding day. We were let into a lovely house; greeted by all the family present (some in bath towels and bath robes). We were let loose in the house to take detail shots and to await the first meeting of the bride. When she walked in, I knew immediately that I liked her. Marilyn made our first meeting seem like a long lost reunion, ditching a handshake for a hug. We were entertained by the talented make up artist and son of the groom, Benjamin; who did an exquisit job and kept us in stitches the whole time. The preparation time flew by and before I knew it, we were at the church.
The church was buzzing with excitement, Marilyn was met at the limo door by her dapper son telling her she looked pretty, the photogenic cute as a button flower girl was ready for her princess task, and her father stood proud and beaming looking as handsome as ever even with his chemo thinned hair cut (as his wife Dorthoty puts it). This day was to be a celebration of family and of Marilyn and Jean’s love…and it was that and more. The large windows at the front of the church let in bright winter sun and provided a view of bare trees dusted with snow as a backdrop. The ceremony was emotional and I simply loved when Marilyn teared up through her vows and hugged on to Jean for a moment in between words. I could tell even before meeting Jean that he was a kind and good man.
The day just got better and better. I thought Marilyn was a sweet heart, but Marilyn and Jean together were to good to be true. We had a wonderful time capturing their romance in the elegant rooms and staircase of the Halifax Club.
The reception was decorated beautifully, the food was divine, the speeches brought laughter and tears and the company was wonderful.
Marilyn and Jean I don’t know if you could tell, but we thoroughly enjoyed your day and we can’t wait for you to see the rest of your pictures. We wish you much joy and happiness!

Monica and Jeff are a lovely couple getting ready to tie the knot. They were gems to work with. They came prepared, open to anything we threw at them; they braved the cold and looked amazing; this shoot had all of the perfect ingredients for fabulousness!
Monica and Jeff had grown up down the street from each other their whole life without really crossing paths until the day they met and then everything just clicked. I love how many adorable moments they shared and let us capture; it was so easy and natural to photograph them.
Thanks for a beautiful shoot, we can’t wait for your fall wedding next year!

Sarah and Jordan were fabulous to photograph! The entire afternoon of fun-filled moments, laughter, and spontaneous location spotting was a blast. It was like hanging out with old friends….oh wait, I was hanging out with an old friend! Sarah and I went to school together, were in musicals, acting classes, and festivals; we were a part of fiercely close gaggle of girls.
It was amazing to see her and catch up with her life, and it was even more amazing to see her with incredible “husband to be” Jordan. He loves her. Cherishes her. You can see it in the way he holds her and hear it in the way he refers to her as Princess. My most favorite thing of all is how he got her to laugh this “all is well with the world”, cute little nose-crinkling laugh.
I can’t wait for your wedding! You two are amazing together….Sarah…not that you needed it, but I wholly approve of your choice in a husband (if this had been grade 10 drama, and we were sending notes, and one of those notes had two boxes — one saying, “Check yes if you think I should date and or marry Jordan, check no if you think he smells like Doritos”…I totally would have checked yes).

“Fall in love” is the perfect phrase to describe Bre and Luke’s wedding as well as their relationship. They fell in love while walking together around Moncton on crisp Fall nights. After work, Luke would meet Bre, and they would walk and share their thoughts and dreams; he proposed on one such night, and then the wedding plans began for a fantastic fall wedding.
Their wedding reminded me of “fifties glam” with the girls decked out in Marilyn Monroe style dresses, with fab hair and shoes; and they were not to be outdone by the dapper groomsmen.
What I absolutely loved about Bre and Luke’s wedding was the emotion that was shared throughout the entire day. The way her Dad teared up when she walked down the stairs to show off her dress. The way Luke had to tuck the card Bre had given him back into its envelope so he wouldn’t choke up. How he wept as he saw his beautiful bride walk down the aisle, and how Bre returned the favour as he sang her a song promising his life to her.
Bre and Luke you had a fabulous day; thanks for sharing it with us!

Melissa and Raymond have a killer connection. I mean these two are in L-O-V-E , and their cuteness coupled with yummy light = Matt and I loving our life! We would set them up in front of a beautiful background and just let the magic happen. They laughed, snuggled, whispered to each other, and we just snapped away happily. These two college sweethearts make a beautiful pair, and it is not hard to see that they delight in each other.
We can’t wait to photograph your July wedding!!!

Last winter, we shot the wonderful wedding of Caroline and Guillaume, and during their family groups, I noticed Caroline’s brother and his sweet fiancée and thought they were so cute. Then during the dance, Matt snapped an awesome picture of the two of them smiling at each other, and I can remember hoping that we’d get the chance to photograph their wedding. Well, lucky for us, we have been granted that honour.
Gille and Nathalie are so much fun to shoot. My favourite part of this afternoon was at the last location after all of the giggles and shivers and fun poses, they simply held one another and smiled under the dull November sun.

The other day …okay a few weeks ago (we are that behind: ) we met with a wonderful couple and their sweet dog, Porgie. Sarah and Nick are A-dorable! Despite the frigid temperature, their amazing connection shone through. At the very end of the session when we said we had gotten the final shot, they threw their arms around each other and shared one last kiss–how cute is that?
Sarah and Nick, we had a fabulous time with you two and laughed so much that day! We can’t wait to photograph your wedding!

As Matthew and I drove down the familiar 102 highway to Halifax clutching our coffees, gaining warmth and a much needed caffeine fix, we talked about our plans and back-up plans for the day. The gray clouds and the crisp fall mist settled on the the fall landscape, contrasting the vibrant yellows of a Nova Scotia fall. Matt’s hand found its home on my knee, and we decided rain or shine this wedding was going to be beautiful.
As it turned out, to say that this day was beautiful would be an understatement. Danielle made a stunning bride; photo after photo we would sing her praises, and she would respond with a shy and humble smile.
It was a pleasure to photograph her and Jason. As they braved the drizzle and wind of an overcast October day, they mixed smiles with shivers. These two have been together since grade 9, and they have an amazing passion and depth to their love.
Danielle and Jason it was a pleasure to photograph your amazing day! Thank you for braving the cold and rain for beautiful photos!
